Canberra weekend and Josh's visit

Last weekend we made a quick trip to Canberra. After having a nice dinner with Annette's dad Harley and Pam, we stayed at Rydges on Friday night. The next day, we went to Clare (Nettie's school friend) and Vy's wedding celebrations which was great. Katie (far right) had a healthy baby 2 days later!
When we came home on Sunday, we fired up the combustion heater for the first time (It was installed on Friday). You can also see my entertainment centre! The living room is now finished (just the curtains to hang up).

And on Tuesday, my mate Josh (ex-flat mate from St George) came to stay. He's on a holiday for a few more days and is going back to Florida where he is doing a PhD.
Nettie made a very nice lamb shank pasta dish. The lamb was slow cooked on top of the heater and it was quite yummy!
Meanwhile, the rain refuses to go!! We've had 140mm in 3 days and its still going! So the concrete hasn't been poured yet and the shed construction is going to be hold for a while which is very very frustrating.
cya!

Hi,
Lots of ladies with babies in your group Nettie!! Good to see you getting together with the girls. Another wedding.... must nearly all be married off by now!! The fire looks great, hope it warmed the large area. Very impressed with the BIG SCREEN. No need to go to the pictures any more. We will be busy with our stuff this weekend. Hope to get a bit more organised and take some furniture up to Springdale so we can begin to clear things out to get into our own jobs. Have a nice Anzac weekend. Mum/Anne

Howdy Bro and Annette,
Really like the fireplace - it looks fantastic and v.happy for you both that you have the flatscreen.
You must be asking yourselves how you lived without one until now (just joking), next thing on the list of techy-stuff is a HTPC (home theatre pc). I can't remember how I used to watch tv without being able to fast forward the commercials.
Your place looks great now - can't wait to see your place again, the plants will have all settled in by then (maybe a year from now?).
Lots of love from Stockholm
